1. Description
--------------
EasyHelp/Web v2.82h is a very easy to use hypertext authoring
tool for use with Microsoft Word 6 or Word 7 or Word 97.
It supports all language versions of Word and was specially
designed for non technical users.

Most people know hypertext as 'Windows help' files, although
nowadays, the most used hypertext is on the Internet in the
form of World Wide Web pages.

Using EasyHelp/Web single Word source document can be used for
 - creating Windows Help files
 - creating Web pages (HTML)
 - printing a paper copy of your document

Business users can significantly reduce the production and
distribution costs of procedure manuals, telephone lists,
catalogues or just about any reference information.

Programmers can easliy produce context-sensitive help files
for their applications, complete with context numbers, browse
sequences, keyword search and hot spot graphics.

If you have a Web site, use EasyHelp/Web to generate the Web
pages and include on the site a complete WinHelp version of
your pages for the user to download and read off-line.

EasyHelp/Web allows you seamlessly to include graphics in
the hypertext files it produces, automatically substituting
GIF and hot spot graphics files in place of the bitmap (BMP)
which you include in the source document.

This is fully functional shareware. Until you register the
software, your generated hypertext files will contain a
reference to the fact that they were authored with
EasyHelp/Web.

See section 6 below for contact information.

This version replaces all earlier versions.

2. What is installed with EZY282h.EXE?
-------------------------------------
EZY282h.EXE is an installion program which will configure
EasyHelp/Web for any Windows PC (Win 3.1x, 95 or NT)

Most of the files are installed in the application directory
(C:\EASYHELP by default) and a further two files are installed

easyhelp.ini - in your Windows System directory
easyhelp.dot - in your Word template directory

The HCP.EXE WinHelp compiler is included in the EASYHELP\HC
folder. You MUST remove this after 30 days if you do not
register EasyHelp/Web. The Win95 compiler and hotspot
editor come with the boxed product.

The installation includes an 'uninstall' option which you can
use to remove the complete EasyHelp/Web system.

3. Installing and Using EasyHelp/Web
------------------------------------
Run EZY282h.EXE from the Windows Program manager or Start
button. The installation program detects the operating system
and through a few simple questions, asks how you want to
install the system. Any existing EASYHELP.INI file will NOT
be overwritten.

We recommend that you take the time to work through the
examples (starting at EX1.DOC which you will find in the
EasyHelp directory/folder and by clicking the 'EX1' icon).
You will discover how easy it is to author professional
looking hypertext files.

EasyHelp/Web is a Word template which can either be attached to
an existing document, or it can be selected when you issue the
Word command 'File/New' - you select 'EasyHelp' from the list
of templates in your WinWord template directory.

It gives you an additional set of editing tools which allow you
to define a hypertext structure of topics and links within
your Word document and then to compile it into independent
hypertext files.

From the same source document, you can create either Windows
Help files or HTML web pages, suitable for uploading onto the
World Wide Web

A series of easy steps to create a help/web file:
  1. Create Topics
  2. Create Links
  3. Process
  4. Build (only applies to help files)
